Creating your character
Players will create characters to engage in Roleplaying, Exploration, and Combat. GM’s can make characters this way or use premade NPCs. This character is your gateway into the galaxy of Eradonis and the heart of your gameplay experience as a player. The decisions you make in character creation will give you unique ways of interacting with the world as well as effecting everything you do in it. You'll print and fill out a character sheet with the following information:
Health Points: For all characters HP starts at 15 for Torso and 10 for the Arms, Legs, and Head
Species: The first step to making your character is picking your species. Humans have never laid a foot in the cold stars of Eradonis, but the galaxy is home to many advanced lifeforms that in many aspects are people. Your species gives you unique traits and stat modifiers. These will be important to come back to later.
Background: Your background starts your story and helps determine what kind of character you want to play.
Stats: The core of your character. Each stat will impact everything you do in the galaxy. Stat checks are one of the primary ways of interacting with things throughout your gameplay, and the modifiers given from stats also augment all other parts of gameplay. Some stats are Strength, Perception, and Adaptability.
Skills Specialized tasks that through experience you can become better at. Most Skills are affected by Stats. Each skill offers a unique way at handling situations and will further cement your role in the party. Some skills are Diplomacy, Biology, and Melee Weapons.
Traits Traits are distinct quirks of your character that make them a little more realistic. They provide benefits as well as drawbacks to change up your playstyle.
Perks: Offer unique passive buffs and abilities providing more specialized upgrades to add further distinction to your character build. Giving you more options on how to interact with the world or modifying the ways you already do. Most require certain parameters to be met by your character to use. You get a new perk point to spend every 3 character levels and you automatically get perks at specific skill levels.
Character Level (CL)
Your character level is the general ability and experience of your character. Leveling up your character level gives you a stat point, skill points, and a perk every 3 levels.
Rank:
Ranges of Character Levels. Items, NPCs, and Creatures are separated into Ranks that denote value, power level, or rarity. The different Ranks are: Novice: 1-3, Journeyman (Jrny): 4-9, Expert: 10-14, Master: 15-19, Mancer: 20+
You may see these abbreviated as: N, J, E, M, and M+
Starting Equipment: Get your starting equipment based on your previous decisions.
